In Kittitas County, our growing population needs an ever-increasing supply of drinking water, but the demand for drinking water competes with other uses, including agriculture, industry, recreation, and maintaining an adequate stream flow for fish.
Our goal is to to ensure a safe and reliable supply of drinking water to meet current and future needs. Therefore it is important that we work with public water systems to implement water use efficiency programs. Water use efficiency (WUE) measures are also important for preventing health and sanitation risks to their customers. This means fewer emergencies when water supplies are scarce, especially during summer months when it rains less and user demands are high.
